Ltd in a lawsuit against generic drug manufacturers seeking permanent injunction based on infringement of Chugai’s manufacturing process patent, in which Tokyo District Court and IP High Court (Grand panel) both already rendered judgements finding infringement of the patent under the doctrine of equivalents.

The Grand panel of IP High Court found patent infringement under the doctrine of equivalents in the patent infringement case filed by Chugai Pharmaceuticals against generic manufacturers.

The Supreme Court judged the case in favor of the court appointed bankruptcy trustee Masaaki Sawano of Kabushiki Kaisha Quin Ash, a bankrupt company. Kazunori Furukawa as a bankruptcy trustee representative and Yoshitaka Hagiwara, Shotaro Aoki and Kosuke Hasegawa as representatives for the bankruptcy trustee have also been engaged in this case.
